Thornhill Timber Frames

CREATING BEAUTIFUL AND LASTING TIMBER FRAME HOMES & STRUCTURES

WHAT WE DO

Let us help you realize your dream by providing design consultation for your project.

We build traditional and contemporary timber frame homes and structures.

Our crew has a wide range of experience in renovations, retrofits and other building projects.

Dave Penner focused his craftsmanship and experience and began timber framing in 1999. He brings a creative edge to every project and ensures that each structure is a reflection of the relationship between the owner, the builder and the environment.

ABOUT US

We are a small family run TIMBER FRAME COMPANY in southern Manitoba near Morden. We enjoy designing and crafting homes that are well built, suited to their owners’ needs and show regard for their surroundings and environment.

Founder Dave Penner incorporated his thoughtful and artistic craftsmanship into the work that Thornhill Timber Frames does today. Together with son Luc and team members Warren and Joey, the projects that come out of the shop in Thornhill express the philosophical values shared by all members of the company.

Whether you are looking at a complete home, an addition or renovation, or a deck, pergola or other shelter, we can help you through the entire design and build process. We believe you will find us approachable, creative and capable of helping you realize your project through to completion.

We are a qualified ENERGY STAR® home builder. Our homes exceed current energy efficiency thresholds.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO US

At Thornhill Timber Frames we believe that homes and the other structures that we surround ourselves with ought to be a reflection of who we are and our relationship to the world around us. Timber frame structures represent a beautiful, enduring and sustainable way to shelter ourselves from the elements. In addition, the spaces created by these structures exude warmth and strength, visibly reminding us of the natural world within which we live.

Our philosophy supports sustainability which means that our approach to building pays attention to the responsible use of resources. Timber frame construction maximizes the benefit of the renewable resource that trees represent. The building system that we incorporate ensures that each home requires minimal energy consumption to heat and cool.

We believe that the homes we inhabit are at the core of our well being. We further believe that the planning, construction and finishing of a home ought to respect the values of the home owner, whether the home is large or small.
